Why, What & How of the ICF ACTC Pathway

As team coaching continues to develop as a professional discipline, the ICF Advanced Certification in Team Coaching (ACTC) provides a dedicated pathway for coaches seeking recognition of their team coaching knowledge, experience, and practice.

In this Team Coaching Circle session, we’ll explore the why, what and how of the ICF ACTC pathway — from understanding the purpose and value of the credential to navigating the requirements and preparing for the application.

We’ll look at what the ACTC pathway involves, what coaches need to consider when planning their journey, and how team coaching education, experience, mentoring, and assessment fit into the broader accreditation process.

The session is designed for team coaches at different stages of their accreditation journey — whether you are considering ACTC for the first time, already working towards the credential, or simply want to better understand the pathway and requirements.

This will be an opportunity to hear directly from ICF leaders, clarify questions, and gain a practical understanding of the ACTC journey.

About the Speakers

Mary Anna Wright - MCC, ACTC | Leadership Coach, Communications Specialist & ICF Credentials and Standards Board Chair

Mary Anna Wright is a leadership coach and communications specialist who helps ambitious professionals strengthen their leadership presence, communicate with confidence, and create meaningful influence.

Her career has taken her from the corporate world, through a PhD exploring cultural change, into journalism and public relations. This varied background has given her a broad perspective on how people think, communicate, and lead, particularly when navigating uncertainty and rapid change.

Mary Anna is Chair of the ICF Credentials and Standards Board and a Director on the ICF Global Enterprise Board. An ecologist at heart, she is fascinated by the role of teams and systemic influence in complex environments.

Carrie Abner - CAE | Vice President, ICF Credentials & Standards

Carrie Abner is a Certified Association Executive with more than two decades of experience working across professional associations, communications, policy, and nonprofit management.

She currently serves as Vice President of ICF Credentials & Standards, where she works to strengthen and grow the certification of coach practitioners around the world while supporting high standards for professional and ethical practice in coaching.

Carrie brings extensive experience in professional credentialing and standards development and is passionate about bringing diverse communities of practitioners together through common purpose and professional standards.
